May 2005 - HSE urges firms to test tool vibration on the shopfloor
The Health & Safety
Executive (HSE) has called on manufacturers of hand-held tools to test their
products under workplace conditions and not just in laboratories, in time for
the forthcoming proposed Control of Vibration at Work Regulations.
Due to come into force by July, the regulations will specify daily levels of
vibration exposure from tools, and will require employers to take action to
control the subsequent hand-arm vibration (HAV) risk.
